Screening Measures for Volunteers

To be considered, volunteers should:

·      Complete the volunteer application form below or in-person

·      Complete a Vulnerable Sector Check (if required depending on the nature of the volunteer tasks and if the volunteer is 18+) 

Time Commitment for Volunteers

·       Commitment can vary depending on need and position. Generally, volunteers can expect to receive 8-10 hours per month 

Available Volunteer Roles at North Perth Public Library

Collection Maintenance

Duties may include:

·      Shelf reading

·      Inventory

·      Organization/tidying

·      Special collections preparation i.e. puzzles, games, etc.

·      Weeding

·      Cleaning DVDs

·      Shelving DVDs

Technology Support

Duties may include:

·      Basic tech troubleshooting and answer tech-related questions with the public via our Tech Time program

Programming, Special Events and Outreach Support

Duties may include:

·      Program/events or outreach set-up

·      Program/events or outreach clean-up

·      Program/events/outreach prep i.e. cutting, button making

·      Welcoming and assisting program participants

If there are current openings, we will contact you to set up an interview. From there, the background check and possibly a vulnerable sector check will be required to begin. 

Please note: the minimum age to volunteer is 14. Those under 18 need a caretaker signature to begin volunteering.
